History

Oklahoma City’s food and culture is alive and well in the Asian District. In the 1970’s, Oklahomans welcomed Vietnamese refugees with open arms. Today, OKC is home to one of the highest per capita Vietnamese populations in the US. In the Asian District, you will find Asian cultural events, the best Asian restaurants in OKC, including the most authentic Vietnamese food found anywhere in the state. Popular landmark in the Asian District, The Milk Bottle Building, is located along old Route 66.  It was built in 1930 and is an icon of the Mother Road in OKC. The 350-square foot triangular building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
